Immigration to Australia
Australia is one of the most sought-after destinations for skilled professionals, offering unparalleled opportunities for career growth, lifestyle, and permanent residency. At The EMT Group Education and Migration, we specialize in guiding individuals through Australia’s immigration process, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience.
General Skilled Migration (GSM) Subclasses
The General Skilled Migration program is designed for skilled individuals who wish to migrate to Australia. The program is points-based and has three primary visa subclasses:
1. Subclass 189 – Skilled Independent Visa
- No sponsorship required.
- Allows you to live and work anywhere in Australia permanently.
- Open to individuals with skills in demand on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
2. Subclass 190 – Skilled Nominated Visa
- Requires state or territory nomination.
- Grants permanent residency.
- Applicants must meet specific state/territory occupation requirements.
3. Subclass 491 – Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa
- Designed for skilled workers willing to live and work in regional Australia.
- Offers a pathway to permanent residency through the Subclass 191 visa.
- Requires nomination by a state/territory or sponsorship by an eligible family member in a regional area.
The Points System
The GSM program operates on a points-based system to evaluate applicants based on their skills, experience, and qualifications. Points are awarded for:
- Age: Maximum points for applicants aged 25-32.
- English Proficiency: High scores in language tests like IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL yield more points.
- Work Experience: Points are awarded for relevant skilled work experience in and outside Australia.
- Educational Qualifications: Higher qualifications such as bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. earn additional points.
- Australian Study: Completing education in Australia provides extra points.
- State/Territory Nomination or Sponsorship: Additional points for being nominated or sponsored.
- Credentialed Language Proficiency: Applicants can gain additional points by demonstrating proficiency in a credentialed language, such as NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) certification.
A minimum of 65 points is required to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI), but higher points increase your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for a visa.
